Utilitarianism views

1. What would the utilitarianist say about my cost-benefit analysis about school? Does it bring more pain or pleasure for me to go to school?
A utilitarianist would say that they need to put a price on the different things i said about school. Looking at the tangible ones that i have posted, it would say its worth it because in the long run, it would give me alot of pleasure for example I could get a job and have a high pay.And its like a investment to work hard now and gain the benefits later on in your life.
2. What would be an objection that the utilitarianist have about placing a $ value on everything?
A utilitarnianist would not place a price on everything because thats not what they do. Instead, they would start to put a price on the intangible things for example our emotions and relationships and friendships. They would say that putting a price on these topics can give us a more wider and more accurate view point of different pleasures and pains.

  1. Utilitarians do tend to put a price on everything. It makes it easier to compare and decide which brings the most pleasure.
